Create a Mashup from multiple songs

Combine two or three song references in a new generation.

Mashup uses 2–3 song references together. The same reference count applies across Mashup entry points.

Add your references

  1. In Idea, choose Make a mashup. Alternatively, add a song in Custom and switch the Audio section to Mashup.
  2. Add a second song. You can add one more, up to three in total.
  3. Use From library for songs you have already uploaded or generated, or add an audio file.
  4. Wait for reference preparation, then review the inputs.
  5. Describe what you want combined: for example, the energy of one reference and the feel of another.
  6. Generate and compare the results.

Review the lyrics

In Custom, Mashup can combine lyrics from its song references. Select Write my own if you want to supply your own words instead, then check the Lyrics field before generating.

What should I expect?

A Mashup is a newly generated song guided by its references. It is not a timeline editor for cutting together the original recordings. It does not guarantee an exact section order, a particular singer, or a seamless splice of the original files.

If a reference fails to upload or be read, resolve that reference before submitting another generation. For a new version of just one song, use Cover. Usage costs are maintained in Credits usage.

Check the selected model

Melody and score references use ACE Music v1.1 Preview. Create can switch to this model when you add a reference that requires it; check the model name and generation cost before you generate. ACE-Step does not read these melody or score references.

Use a model that supports Mashup

ACE-Step does not support Mashup, including in Idea. Select ACE Music v1.1 Preview for the two- or three-song workflow. ACE-Step Cover uses one song and is not a replacement for Mashup.

Using images or videos too

In Idea, you can add an image or video alongside the song references to guide the topic, mood, words or style. The visual does not supply melody notes. Keep the original file: uploaded visual attachments are available for 24 hours and are not kept as reusable attachments in Library.
