Song Reimagining & Vocal Production

The Work After Generation: Arrangement, Vocals, and Mixing

AI music production can begin with a complete generated song and continue into arrangement, vocal editing, and mixing. Use ACE Music to explore the song, then move the parts you want to develop into ACE Studio. Treat the transition as a production workflow, not as proof that a finished audio file contains the original editable session for every instrument.

Start with a song in ACE Music

We generated the original English lyrics below in ACE Music using Custom and ACE Music v1.1 Preview, then downloaded both MP3 versions. The first version became the source for the Studio exercise.

[Verse]
A pencil mark, a little tune
An open window in the afternoon
[Chorus]
Small steps turn a spark into a song
Build it piece by piece and sing along

English acoustic pop production sketch with one clear lead vocal, simple piano, warm bass and a restrained steady drum part. Keep the verse intimate and let the chorus open gently, leaving space between vocal phrases for later arrangement and mixing.

Describe the musical direction in Style, check the title and lyrics, then select Generate.

Choose what is worth developing

Listen to the song as a whole before separating it into tasks. Write down the hook you want to keep, the weakest section, and the production change most likely to improve the track.

An original project brief could be: “Keep the intimate first verse, make the chorus feel wider, and replace the crowded final line with a cleaner vocal phrase.” This gives the session priorities beyond adding more layers.

Bring the useful material into ACE Studio

Keep the original generation as a reference. Import the available authorized audio into your production session and confirm timing and level before editing.

If you need separate components, use an appropriate stem-splitting route and review each extracted part. A stem can make a new arrangement possible, but it may contain residual sounds and is not the same as the original recording session's individual tracks.

The first MP3 is imported as an audio reference, not an editable session containing its original instruments.

Professional Stem Splitter created vocal, drums, bass, piano, guitar and other tracks from the mix. These are separated estimates, not the original recording multitracks. Check bleed and artifacts before further production.

Develop the arrangement with a reason for every layer

Decide what each section needs to communicate. A verse may benefit from fewer competing sounds; a chorus may need a stronger harmonic foundation or a backing vocal rather than more overall volume.

Work with editable vocal or instrument parts when the musical change needs note-level decisions. Keep a record of what was generated, transcribed, or newly written so collaborators understand the source of each part.

Shape the vocal in context

For detailed singing work, create or prepare a MIDI-and-lyric vocal part in ACE Studio. Review its phrasing against the backing before applying more processing.

If a lyric is difficult to understand, identify whether the issue is the words, performance, or masking from other instruments. A louder vocal does not solve every problem.

Mix the result, then compare with the reference

Balance the main musical elements first. Use effects where they solve a specific problem or support the intended space, following the current mixing workflow.

Return to the original generation at a comparable listening level. Did the production improve the story and structure, or merely make the session more complicated? Keep the change when it serves the song.

For this balance exercise, the original reference was muted. We set vocal to +1.5 dB, drums to −2 dB, bass to −1 dB and the other stems to 0 dB, with the master at −3 dB. The exported file demonstrates these level choices; it is not a claim that separation or the mix is flawless. No notes or lyrics were edited in this example.

Choose AI music production software for each stage

ACE Music is the song-generation starting point in this workflow. ACE Studio is the separate environment for detailed musical parts and production. When comparing AI music software or an AI DAW, check which stage the tool actually handles. Any transfer uses the files and integration options available to your setup; do not assume an automatic project handoff.

Start a song in ACE Music and develop it in ACE Studio when you want to choose how far the initial result can go.
