Create from MusicXML or MIDI
Turn a readable music file into a reference for generation.
Use Sheet music to start from a MusicXML or MIDI file. ACE Music reads the file's musical content and uses it as a reference for a new song.
Import a music file
- In Idea, choose Sing sheet music, or open + → Sheet music. In Custom, use Audio → Sheet music.
- Select the file.
- Follow the upload and reading progress on its reference.
- Once musical content is available, review it. In Custom, open the melody editor if you want to inspect or change the reference.
- Add lyrics or describe the song you want, then generate.

If the file cannot be read
Check that the original opens in notation software or a MIDI player. If import fails, export a fresh copy in a supported format or try a simpler passage with fewer parts. Renaming the extension does not convert the file.
Recognition can miss notes, rhythm, or structure. Complex notation is not guaranteed to produce a complete reconstruction of every part. Review the musical reference and the finished song separately.
Where is the file stored?
Sheet music is attached as creation material rather than becoming a separate Library audio entry. The resulting generated song appears in Library. To export notation from a completed result, see score and MIDI exports.
Check the selected model
Melody and score references use ACE Music v1.1 Preview. Create can switch to this model when you add a reference that requires it; check the model name and generation cost before you generate. ACE-Step does not read these melody or score references.
Supported sheet-music input formats
Sheet music accepts .musicxml, .xml, .mxl, .mid and .midi files. PDF files and scanned scores cannot be imported directly. Export MusicXML or MIDI from your notation software before uploading. You can still export a generated score as a PDF.
