From Ideas to Complete Songs

A Voice for Your Song, Even If You Don’t Sing

Create a song with vocals and accompaniment from an idea or your own lyrics. Follow ACE Music's Idea and Custom workflows, then compare the singing and phrasing.

You don’t need to sing, play an instrument, or write a melody to create a song with vocals. ACE Music can generate complete song audio, including singing and accompaniment, from a description or your own lyrics.

The starting point depends on what you already have. Use Idea when you know what the song should be about but haven’t written the words. Use Custom when you have lyrics you want sung. Then listen carefully: getting a complete song is the first step; finding a convincing vocal performance takes judgment.

Prepare your idea or lyrics

Start by deciding what the song should communicate. “A song for my friend” leaves plenty open. “A hopeful goodbye to a friend moving to another city, remembering our Saturday coffee routine” gives the writing a clearer focus.

Add a few sound preferences: a genre, a mood, a pace, and the kind of singing you want. Everyday descriptions such as “warm, conversational vocals” or “gentle singing over acoustic guitar” are enough. You don’t need technical terms.

For example:

Create an acoustic pop song for a friend moving to another city. Write from the perspective of someone who will miss our Saturday coffee chats but feels excited for their next chapter. Use warm, conversational vocals, acoustic guitar, light drums, and a relaxed pace.

If you already have lyrics, prepare those separately. Keep line breaks, leave space between sections, and use labels such as [Verse] and [Chorus] to organize the text. Check names, repeated lines, and section order. Put instructions about instruments and singing in Style, rather than mixing them into the words to be sung.

Choose your generation path

Both routes are available in ACE Music, but they serve different starting points.

Start with an idea

Open Create → Idea, sign in if needed, and enter your description. Review the subject and musical direction, then select Generate.

The AI Music Generator prepares the lyrics and musical direction before generating the audio. This route suits an unfinished concept: you can hear how a topic might work as a song without first writing every line.

Make the vocal request clear. Describe the singing you want alongside the subject, rather than submitting only a list of instruments.

Start with your own lyrics

Open Create → Custom. Put your words in Lyrics and describe the sound in Style. For example: “Acoustic pop, warm conversational vocals, gentle guitar, light drums, and a relaxed pace.”

Style is required in Custom. If you enter through the Lyrics to Song page and leave its optional style field blank, the page supplies a pop description that you can change before generating.

Choose this route when the wording matters, such as a personal dedication or an existing lyric draft. You can also use Write lyrics with AI to develop a draft, then review it yourself.

Select Generate when both fields are ready. The current workflow requests two versions and adds them to Library, where you can follow progress and listen when they are available.

Try the lyrics-led route: Saturday Coffee

We developed the Saturday-coffee memory into the original English lyrics below, then used Lyrics and Style in Custom with ACE Music v1.1 Preview. No microphone recording, instrumental or melody reference was supplied for this run. Review the repeated chorus and ending as well as the opening lines before generating.

[Verse 1]
Your favorite cup is on the shelf
I order two before I catch myself
Saturday sunlight fills your chair
I save a story, wish that you were there

[Chorus]
Take our mornings to a brand-new sky
Keep the little jokes and hold them high
If the city ever feels too wide
Call me, I am on the other side

[Verse 2]
Your new street has a different name
But rainy mornings feel the same
Send me a picture of your view
I will find a Saturday for you

[Chorus]
Take our mornings to a brand-new sky
Keep the little jokes and hold them high
If the city ever feels too wide
Call me, I am on the other side

[Outro]
One more coffee, one more call
Different streets, the same old us through it all

In Create → Custom, enter the original English lyrics in Lyrics. The verse develops the scene and the chorus returns to its central thought.

Acoustic pop, warm conversational vocals, gentle guitar, light drums, and a relaxed pace. A reflective verse and an uplifting, memorable chorus with subtle background harmonies.

The two downloaded versions of Saturday Coffee are approximately 1:57 and 2:09. Listen without the lyric sheet first, then compare the important words, pauses and balance against the accompaniment.

Listen for a song you would want to keep

The result is complete song audio with vocals and accompaniment. You don’t need to record a separate singing part. Still, requesting natural vocals does not guarantee that every result will sound equally convincing.

Listen once without reading the lyrics. Can you follow the story? Does the chorus express the main feeling? A polished sound won’t rescue a song that misses your point.

On a second pass, focus on the voice:

  • Words: Can you understand important lines, especially names and the chorus?
  • Phrasing: Do pauses fall in sensible places, or do sentences sound rushed?
  • Held notes: Do longer vowels stay clear, or break into a metallic or unnatural sound?
  • Expression: Does the delivery fit the words, rather than sounding cheerful during a sad line?
  • Balance: Can you hear the singer clearly over the accompaniment?

Compare both available versions using the same questions. One may have a stronger chorus while the other handles the words more naturally.

Turn the biggest problem into a specific revision. If the story is wrong, clarify the Idea prompt. If a lyric line feels crowded, shorten it in Custom before generating again. If the words work but the delivery feels too forceful, try a Style direction such as “gentle, conversational vocals with sparse accompaniment.”

Change one main thing at a time. Treat regeneration as another interpretation, rather than expecting a precise repair of the existing recording.

Put the song to use

A personal gift is a straightforward first project. For the moving-away example, check that the shared memory is recognizable and the tone feels encouraging. A simpler song with clear words may suit the occasion better than a dramatic arrangement.

You can also turn a lyric draft into a songwriting demo. Hearing the lines sung helps you notice awkward wording, an overlong verse, or a chorus that needs a clearer central phrase.

For a photo montage or short video, listen alongside the images. Check whether the vocal enters at a useful moment and whether the lyrics support what viewers are seeing.

Decide what to do next

Keep a note of the wording and style directions that worked. Before making another version, identify what still needs improvement: the story, the lyric, or the musical delivery.

Once you have a version you like, listen through the entire recording before sharing it. Downloads in ACE Music depend on your plan and the files available for that result. If you intend to publish it or use it for a client, review the relevant usage terms first.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to record myself singing or provide a melody?

No. The text and lyrics routes work without reference audio. You can begin with a description, or supply lyrics and a style direction.

Can I change the musical style without rewriting my lyrics?

Yes. Keep the Lyrics field and change Style before generating again. Compare the new recording with the earlier version; keeping the words does not mean you should expect an identical musical performance.

Can I try ACE Music for free?

A free plan is available. Generation uses credits, including when you try another direction, and download access depends on your plan. Check the current plan details before relying on an exported file.
